Ahoy Members,

March was a lot of fun with the main event being St. Patrick's Day weekend. The partying started out on Friday night when Point San Pablo Yacht Club arrived with three boats and Master Mariners Benevolent Association with seven. They are always a fun group of boaters. Saturday night got even more raucous with The Road Runners playing dance tunes to everyone's enjoyment. Finally, on Sunday morning Mia served up a corned beef and hash brunch before our friends at PSPYC and MMBA departed. Thank you to everyone, especially our activities chair Mia, that helped make this year's event fun and festive for our members and guests. We definitely had "The Luck of the Irish" with us!
This month, PICYA's Opening Day is Sunday, April 28th. The theme is "Rockin’ the Bay." It starts in Raccoon Straits, with a blessing of the fleet, before heading to the parade location along the Presidio. It runs just north of Anita Rock off the shore of Crissy Field and follows along the city front to the first Fort Mason building east of the Marina Green. Parade Map.

Rick and Denise Goebal will be entering their boat in the parade if they can get help to decorate their 45' Hatteras. Those that help will get to ride in the parade!

See you at the club,
Jerry

The SRYC Auxiliary starts 2024 with GREAT enthusiasm!!”

“WOW!!!!!! Where did the time go? We’re already into the Spring and a quarter of 2024 is already past us!!! I knew I was slowing down but didn’t realize that time was also speeding up . . .

The Club has been getting a LOT of new members for 2024. We hope that some, or ALL of our new members will enhance their SRYC experience by also joining the SRYC Auxiliary and help/participate in the selection, planning, and execution of fun events to make membership even more exciting. Or, if you choose to join, you can just sit back and observe, and help out where and when you can (our by-laws DO require you to do SOMETHING during the year). Fund-raisers, dinners, cook your own steak nights, potlucks, theme parties, cruise-in events, and more are all potentials for the 2024 calendar.

Think about attending our next meeting on Friday April 12th at the Club. Meetings will always begin at 1800 hours (6 PM) on the second Friday of every month. Come on down and join the fun . . . put your two cents in with ideas for future parties, dinners, and other activities . . . let’s get involved !!!!”

BUILDING REPORT

by Paul Kerrigan, Director
kerrigan65@gmail.com

Thank you to all members who helped decorate for St. Patrick’s weekend at the club. It looked great. The new light for the front entry sign and painting of the club burgee on the gate will be completed early this month. The mailbox is also being moved to the other side of the gate as a result of being hit by a car.

A new gang box will be installed on the dock to hold a pressure washer and various supplies needed for cleaning and maintenance. Next month I will be looking for volunteers for a clean up day, to be determined. Other projects will also be moving forward soon.

Thanks,
Paul Kerrigan
